Leonard Richards

Dr. Richards is currently an Assistant Professor in the College of Education at James Madison University (JMU) where he has taught classes centered around Culturally Responsive Pedagogy. In addition, Richards teaches an Introduction to African and African American Diaspora Studies course. Richards is an alumnus of JMU, earning a Bachelor of Arts in History with minors in Africana Studies, Interdisciplinary Social Sciences, and Secondary Education and a Master of Arts in Teaching. He obtained his Doctor of Education from Peabody College at Vanderbilt University. His research is centered around recruiting and hiring BIPOC faculty in k-12 & higher education.
