SciFiCheerGirl is an East Coast costumer with over 30 years of sewing experience enhanced by prop & armor building, hair & makeup artistry, and performance. Her specialty is quick builds with a focus on functionality and wearability for the whole family.
Raised as an all-purpose fangirl of comics, gaming, sci-fi, and fantasy, she has been cosplaying at events since 2005. The renaissance faire was her official entry into the hobby, focusing on historical costume and mash-ups. Her work has been presented in museums, youth programs, and an academic article about the “Restorying of Institutional Spaces” as a black historical costumer.
